Fibertop® Wear Mats provide an excellent solution for high traffic areas such as slide exits or under swings. Installed and anchored beneath the surface, wear mats prevent the displacement of the Fibertop® wood fibre safety surfacing in heavy use areas without affecting the overall aesthetics of your playground.
Fibertop Wear Mat SPECIFICATIONS
1. Composition
a. Elongated SBR rubber buffings combined with a urethane binder.
b. Colour – black.
c. Adhesive: waterproof single-component, 100% solids, polyurethane.
2. Dimensions
a. Minimum 0.375 inch (9.5mm) thick (bevelled edge) and 2 inches (50mm) thick.
b. Mats for swings – 36”x 36” x 2.5” (900 x 900 x 65 mm)
c. Mats for slides exits - 48”x 48”x 2.5” (1220 x 1220 x 65 mm)
D. Swing bay mats - 36” x 60” x 2” (900 x 1520 x 50 mm)
3. Properties
a. Freeze thaw, ASTM C67: No deterioration.
b. Rubber deterioration/air oven, ASTM D573; No deterioration.
c. Slip resistance: ASTM E303 – Dry 102, Wet 62. ASTM D2047 – Dry 0.81, Wet 0.82.
d. Compression deflection, ASTM D1667; 29.5 psi (2.1kgs/sq.cm) to 25% compression.
e. Compression set, ASTM D395; 4.37% permanent set.
f. Tensile strength, ASTM D412: 107 psi (7.5kgs./sq.cm).
g. Elongation at break, ASTM D412: 165%.
h. Tear strength, ASTM D624: 33.1 psi (2.3kgs/sq.cm)
i. Wear surface density (durability): 60 pcf (96.1kg/cu.m) minimum.
j. Flammability: Burning pill, ASTM D2859: Pass.
4. Compliance
Compliant with ASTM F1292-09 when used in conjunction with 300 mm of Fibertop engineered wood fibre
safety surfacing.
5. Installation
Refer to system specific installation instructions supplied with the Fibertop® Wear Mats product.
THREE YEAR FIBERTOP WEAR MAT WARRANTY
This limited warranty applies to our Fibertop Wear Mats that are warrantied to be free from defects on
material and workmanship for a period of three years from the date of installation.
Purchaser’s sole remedy in the event of materials failure shall be limited to replacement of defective
materials and shall not include any claim for consequential damages or refund.
